In terms of the iphone, I hear that people who have owned it for more than a year are now noticing the shell cracks, which Apple will not repair! I think that is rubbish, especially when the first owners paid so much for it. That's why I want to stick out waiting for the xperia x1, at least I know Sony Ericcson is usually pretty good about repairing their models.

Figures, you know why Apple is still doing ok even with lacking sales, because they are so particular about refunds and never pay any money!
This aside however, it seems like any major phone has something that will drive you crazy, becuase everyone rushes to get it out. Everything Apple always seems to have a bug of flaw, Sony Ericcson's Xperia X1 was crashing itself due to the configuration of Windows Mobile, etc.
I am just waiting to see how the Android messes up! I would rather these companies wait a bit and test their phones before they rush them out, because they are so expensive it really stinks to find out after you have spent your money!

Hi there you left a comment on my blog about coverage in the prince Rupert area thank you. I am not comfortable with publishing your phone number for the world to see so I did not post your comment but in that area I have a sister in the charlottes and her phone does not work at all. She is with rogers but as far as I know it does not matter no phone does. For the other areas there is a company called city tel you may want to look into as I think they do the other areas the best of the bunch.

I highly recommend checking out the above links and perhaps checking out the company….thanks Trish

There is no competition within the wirless industry in Canada; it is the exact same thing as Air Canada and WestJet - they keep each other in the loop so they all get a peice of the pie.

Now if real competition was to come to Canada, it would spell the end of the big 3 and that is because they are scammers. It's common knowledge that we pay some of the highest prices for cell service in the world (top 5) and there is no reason for that at all.....unless the technology that Rogers, Bell and TELUS use is that old.....

That is true but I think it will be offset by the competition. Like we see in the states, there are the big carriers but also a lot of local ones. However I dont know if there is enough little ones to be able to do it. What I mean is Canada is so wide open between cities it takes a lot of money for infrastructure for nothing. Like in Alberta for instance you can do Calgary and Edmonton but is there enough between the 2 to make it profitable? where as in the States there is enough between New York and say Philadelphia to make it profitable.

While having more competition is going to be a very good thing, having so many more regional carriers isn't such a good thing. For one it will mean a return to paying roaming fees while traveling.
